Our book - "Sowing the Seeds of Change" - was published in Spring 2000. It took a lot of hard work to get it together but if, as a result, other people do Treesponsibility projects in their own area, it will definitely be worth it....

THE BLURB

"Treesponsibility is the liberating idea that it is possible to take responsibility for our own pollution. We can choose not to contribute to global warming.

Packed with information about climate, tree-planting and ecological living, this inspirational little book charts the progress of the Treesponsibility group in Calderdale, from the birth of an idea to its muddy, but fulfilling, reality.

Taking as a starting point our launch in 1998 (pictured) this section outlines the idea of Treesponsibility.

This chapter is in cartoon form, and is designed for use with young people.

Part Two - Trees (and getting them planted!)

car2.gif (9398 bytes)

This bit is about the main work of our group in its first two years
- how we managed to get hold of trees cheaply
- how we identified planting sites
- the equipment we used
- how we organised plantings

Part Three
- Our Group

How we got started and raised funds, and how our group has developed.

Part Four - Our Lives

Compensating for our own pollution is good; its better still to pollute less in the first place. With this thought in mind, a group of us met to put together a hotchpotch of green ideas, advice and contact information, on subjects ranging from renewable energy  to veganism.

REVIEWS

"Dedicated to the children of today - and the future - many of the ideas are expressed in cartoon format making the book accessible to and entertaining for readers of all ages and abilities."
(Northern Oak)

"Treesponsibility is a booket that I wish to strongly recommend"
(New Leaves)

"Clearly, a lot of work has gone into the creation of both the group and the book, and while the authors are spirited and brimming with enthusiasm for their subject they are never preachy - very refreshing. If you think you're green, or even if you think you're not but might like to be, this is an absolute must for your bookshelves."
(Pagan Dawn)

"I thought that the book was an inspiring and brilliant read."
(Holding the Pattern)
